Shorts season is here! We've adapted our popular Army Of Lovers sweatpants style to cooler, super-comfy unisex shorts.

“An army of lovers will never be defeated” was used by late artist, friend and community-builder Will Munro. See more of the story below.

🖤 $5 from these shorts will go to the Will Munro Fund for Queer and Trans People Living with Cancer. Learn more here.🖤

Choose camo print in black or green, grey heather or solid black fleece shorts, and your fave vinyl colour and finish. Text runs down the right side, with our little multi-heart icon on the opposite hip.

We use only premium quality blank sweats:

  • sweatshop free, WRAP-certified
  • no-pill 80% cotton, 20% polyester (grey heather: 52/48 cotton/polyester)
  • mid-weight fleece
  • elastic waist with shoestring drawcord
  • jersey-lined hand pockets
  • right-side back pocket, sewn fly detail
  • relaxed fit, unisex cut with tapered knee opening
  • cold water wash inside out, hang to dry*.  (*both garment and vinyl manufacturers say their products are okay to machine wash and tumble dry low – we have! – but everything lasts longer if you don't put it in the dryer)

See fit chart here for sizing. Fit is generous, same as sweatpants.

      🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤

The quote “an army of lovers will never be defeated” is artist and community-builder Will Munro’s take on the last line of writer Rita Mae Brown’s 1974 poem Sappho’s Reply which reads “an army of lovers shall not fail.”
      🖤
Will began using this phrase (as far as we can remember) in the early 2000s as he transformed Toronto’s queer community through uniquely inclusive parties like Vazaleen, the beloved bar/cafe The Beaver, his art, and his gentle punk magic. We are honoured to have known Will, and will forever be inspired by his vision and work.
      🖤
There is a lot of great writing about Will Munro online; the 10 year anniversary of his death from brain cancer brought forth memories from many collaborators and friends. For deeper reading check out Army Of Lovers by Sarah Liss, published by @coachhousebooks
