We love this super-comfy unisex zip-up hoodie for its soft-but-substantial feel and elevated-quality details. Like the Army Of Lovers sweatpants in this mini-collection, we've embellished it with a message of love and resilience for tough times.

“An army of lovers will never be defeated” was used by late artist, friend and community-builder Will Munro. See more of the story below.

Choose green camo print or solid black fleece, and your fave vinyl colour and finish. Text runs beside the zipper on the right side, with our multi-heart icon on the opposite sleeve, just below the shoulder.

We use only premium quality blank sweats:

  • sweatshop free, WRAP-certified
  • no-pill 80% Cotton, 20% Polyester
  • mid-weight fleece, perfect for indoor wear and layering
  • dyed to match drawcord + trim for an elevated look
  • jersey-lined hood, ribbed wrists and waistband for coziness
  • metal zipper, reinforced stitching on pockets for durability
  • relaxed fit, longer cut (doesn't ride up)
  • cold water wash inside out, hang to dry*.  (*both garment and vinyl manufacturers say their products are okay to machine wash and tumble dry low – we have! – but everything lasts longer if you don't put it in the dryer)

See fit chart here for sizing

🖤 $5 from these hoodies will go to the Will Munro Fund for Queer and Trans People Living with Cancer. Learn more here.🖤

The quote “an army of lovers will never be defeated” is artist and community-builder Will Munro’s take on the last line of writer Rita Mae Brown’s 1974 poem Sappho’s Reply which reads “an army of lovers shall not fail.”
      🖤
Will began using this phrase (as far as we can remember) in the early 2000s as he transformed Toronto’s queer community through uniquely inclusive parties like Vazaleen, the beloved bar/cafe The Beaver, his art, and his gentle punk magic. We are honoured to have known Will, and will forever be inspired by his vision and work.
      🖤
There is a lot of great writing about Will Munro online; the 10 year anniversary of his death from brain cancer brought forth memories from many collaborators and friends. For deeper reading check out Army Of Lovers by Sarah Liss, published by @coachhousebooks

In these isolated times, we find comfort in memories of sweaty, glittering dancefloors and stages, and the tribe of tender weirdos we shared them with. We would never have worn sweatpants out in those days… but this feels like an appropriate mashup for where we find ourselves now.
